Alexandra Slone - Self-taught baker, mom, and wife

Hi there! My name is Alexandra. I grew up learning to bake alongside my grandma, who would do the normal grandma thing and give me scraps of pastry dough to play with or a bowl of batter to stir to get me out of her hair, but it wasn't until I was nine that I started baking on my own. I can't remember the very moment I decided I wanted to bake pretty things, but I was interested in the science behind cakes early on. I use some family recipes, most that I've tweaked, but a lot of my recipes have been written from scratch.

Two Little Cakes is the name I use to showcase my baking. I have two young children (who are learning to bake from me) and I volunteer a lot of my time to various organizations, including my daughter's PTO, the local baseball league, and most recently, Cake4Kids. I have plans to make Two Little Cakes a certified home bakery once my youngest is in school next year, and I can't wait to take on more orders! Until then, my schedule is extremely limited and I do try to keep my customers to friends of friends and family.
